Creating a light living space

EP Architects were asked to create a light kitchen-living space for our clients, while integrating an existing Victorian toilet structure.

The resulting extension uses large sliding doors and a roof lantern to increase the natural light entering the space.

EP Architects have delivered a bright living space for our clients to enjoy all year round.   The main feature of the extension is a 3.5m long glazed roof lantern, which floods the extension in natural light.  The build also features recon stone lintels and sills to match those on the main house, maintaining the aesthetic of the property.

“Being complete novices to the whole extension business, the thought was quite daunting. We needn’t have worried. From the time we contacted EP Architects we were in safe hands. Our Architect guided us through each process explaining Planning permissions, party wall protocol Building Regs. They listened to our requests and concerns, and dealt with each one as they came up. Having been given a list of builders by EP they have had contact with; each visited us and gave quotes. We chose GH Builders who did our drawings and plans proud, everything we had wanted. They were on time, clean, considerate and no problem was too difficult, even though we were still living in the property. Finishing the whole build, inside and out, in six months. Despite supply problems due to COVID. We are so pleased with the outcome.
