The Practice was established in 1988 by Brian Page, the former managing director.
We are proud to have been serving the South East for over 35 years and bring 50 years of combined experience to every project, providing our clients with planning & design advice, as well as imaginative solutions. No matter the size of project; from small scale residential developments to large commercial projects or even Olympic venue bids, our experienced design professionals provide creative design solutions.
At EP Architects, we pride ourselves on the quality of service provided to our clients, by involving them at every stage of design, as we explore the brief and maximise every individual project. Before joining the practice Daniel worked on a variety of projects for Cadogan Estates including the major redevelopment of the Duke of York’s barracks in Sloane Square. He has also travelled extensively, during which he worked with a leading architectural practice in Sydney. While at the practice he was proud to be offered sponsorship to stay in Australia with the company.
After a one year sabbatical, Daniel was made an Associate in 2008 and a Director in 2019.
Upon Brian’s passing Daniel was appointed as a Managing Director in 2022.
In 2002 Sharon took a career break to look after her two children and returned to work for a local Maidstone architectural practice, specialising in healthcare buildings. In 2013 Sharon joined EP Architects Ltd and has been involved in a larger variety of projects from domestic extensions and alterations to fitness centres, nursing homes and housing developments. In 2019 Sharon was made a Director of EP Architects Ltd.
Upon Brian’s passing Sharon was appointed as a Managing Director in 2022.
Vivien joined the practice in 2015 and has since managed all bookkeeping and accounting function of the business. The financial side of the business is kept up-to-date and the monthly management accounts give us a regular insight into how the business is performing. We can then consider investment opportunities, review our pricing strategy and forecast for the future.
After qualifying from Dundee University in 1973 Brian became a registered architect in 1974 and joined the RIBA in 1984. His first years in the profession were spent working in Edinburgh for Sir Basil Spence on major hospital and university projects. He then moved to the borders in Scotland working for Annandale and Eskdale District council, working primarily in the residential sector.
He then moved south to Kent where he joined a private practice, Grainger & Day, based in Harrietsham. This involved working principally in the commercial sector with clients including B&Q and BMW. After five years, in 1988, he initially set up the practice in College Road Maidstone then in Armstrong Road and now at The Oast, Church Farm, Ulcombe.
The practice has now been succeeded by; Daniel Kemp & Sharon Godsmark, who aim to continue his legacy of providing a high-quality service to every client.
