Carefully designed extension and alterations
EP Architects were approached following two previous planning refusals, for extensions to this beautiful Grade II listed property.
We worked closely with a local planning consultant, engaging the planning authority in two stages of pre-application advice. It was agreed that a modern design referencing an existing timber clad shed, in the location of the new extension, was the best solution. The enlargement of an existing dormer was also approved, updating an existing bedroom and creating a new en-suite shower room.
The building previously had mismatching casement windows in timber and uPVC, concrete and broken clay tiles. New handmade timber casement windows have been installed with modern slim-line double glazed units, as agreed with the conservation officer.
