EP Architects gained planning approval for a 30×50 metre riding arena and 11 metre horse walker. The site is located within a flood zone, near Headcorn in Kent. The sand school is already being put to great use by our client, as seen in the video below.
The proposal consisted of two parts. The horse walker, which has been positioned closer to the existing stable block for ease of access during the winter, to keep the horses active throughout the year. Positioned in the corner of the field is the sand school, providing adequate room for exercise, show-jumping and dressage.
The installation of the arena was completed by PM Tassell fencing.
The clients were overjoyed with the final result and have returned to EPA with a second project to extend their home.
